Make It Monday #65: Background Patterns From Patterned Paper Scraps

This is my second entry! I wanted to make a male card and love Classic Calico Paper pack collection Vol.2. My son is now a "free" reader. That means no more reading scheme books (Biff, Chip and Kipper days are gone). So this card is for him. His favourite colour is green, so I used new leaf cardstock for the star. Roald Dahl's favourite colour was yellow. We are currently reading his books and even enjoyed a class trip to the Roald Dahl Museum in Aylesbury yesterday. We learnt that he wrote on yellow paper with a yellow pencil too! The neutral colours go well with a bright zing (a tip learnt from Dawn McVey).

I'm so pleased I have passed on a love of reading to my children. It's like handing the key to so many doors for them to open.
These are the BFG's bottles of dreams! The photo was taken at the Museum.

  1. What a super card. I love how you have made your star, and your great background papers. I'm green with envy at your trip to that Museum. We just finished listening to the BFG for the 2nd time, and are re-listening to The Witches. My girls are 12 and 14, and we are all still addicted to Roald Dahl. Need to see where this museum is--where are you?
