Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

For this card I challenged myself to use cardstock colours I haven't used before. So I used smokey shadow for the background, Ocean Tides for the flower, and Fine Linen for the base. The background was stamped using versamark with Background Basics: Sheet Music and then clear embossed. I love the shiny result.

 The sentiment from Flower Fusion #12 was stamped in Fresh Snow. My daughter has a music exam this term, she loves black so I thought of her, and I have challenged her to get distinction. Someone told me she once got 99% in a music exam and her father said, 'What happened to the 1%?' ha-ha! I don't think I'm that bad!
  Simply chartreuse felt was die cut with the turning a new leaf dies. I added the red die-cut heart border as the card wasn't bright enough for me and then I was finished.

    The clear embossed stripes really add a lot of texture to the black card stock and the red heart borders are a perfect accent to the flower.
